- 序盤に、源太は蛇に襲われている鳥を助けた。 ある日の夜、「夜道に迷ったので一晩泊めてほしい」と女性が訪ねてくる。実は、この女性は以前助けた鳥だったのである。名はおきじと言う。やがて2人は子どもを授かり幸せに暮らしていた。だが、源太が外出先で怪しい女に襲われる。その襲ってきた女性はなんと、以前追い払った蛇だったのである。 その危険を察したおきじは鳥に姿を変え「今こそ恩を返すとき」と鳥の姿で助けに行く。 おきじは以前に助けてもらった恩を返すために人間の女性になったことが判明した。 感動の物語である。...
