- 用了狄仁杰的背景，考究科普了很多唐朝的细节（街市、官职、宵禁、货币等）。看得出剧是花了大钱，很多一两个镜头的人，妆容服饰都考究，大量诡异、瑰丽场景更换那么多，最后一集也很多场面特效。武打戏更是非常的漂亮，非常的用心，各种兵器上场，包括罕见的锤、斧、铁伞等。演员表现也不错，杨志刚格外契合角色，有胡子比没胡子有魅力；杨旭文高大帅气也贴角色，打戏之后额头有汗，更是老功夫片都没有的细节；配角刻画得挺好，都很有记忆点。除了客串的老演员，年轻演员也很优秀，刘十八、独孤、太子等都演技很好，胡十四娘多风情啊，好久没见能演好这样的角色了，想起了张曼玉的金镶玉。以及，前后呼应，这还是权谋剧。
- 必须打五分和好评，虽然故事在逻辑上有点问题，剧本还是不错的，但是：1.服化道考究；2.打戏认真不用电脑特技糊弄；3.所有演员演技都在线，包括配角，路人甲；4.片尾曲很好听。我不知道啥叫好电视剧，能让我一直想看下去就是还电视剧。
